FLAG FEN NEEDS YOU!

The Francis and Maisie Pryor Charitable Trust are recruiting! 

To support the future of Flag Fen, the Francis and Maisie Pryor Charitable Trust (FMPCT) are supporting the formation of a ‘Friends of Flag Fen’ group.

The ancient archaeological and environmentally sensitive site at Flag Fen is under threat. Climate change, along with the wider expansion from local industrial development, means that we need passionate and driven members to join us to help preserve this unique, globally recognised site, of international importance.

The FMPCT are a longstanding, local, not for profit organisation that has supported many independent community groups, in the region. Run completely by volunteers, it has given direct financial awards for environmental and/or archaeological projects in the region and is dedicated to help support Flag Fen’s long term preservation.

Many people think Flag Fen is completely run by the local authority. Well yes, there are core funds that come directly from local government which allows the park, museum and visitor centre to operate but Flag Fen needs more than just the basics covered. It needs a plan to preserve it’s future and money to pay for all the things it can acheive. By recruiting volunteers and receiving donations, you as a friend will be part of a generation of supporters who will allow the secrets of Flag Fen to be revealed for the generations to come. Friends will be working to improve further research on the site, increase learning to all ages and secure the preservation of the yet undiscovered artifacts that we know are there.

How can you help?

It’s not just about money, if you have time available with skills you think may benefit us, or you may just want to learn new skills in our unique environment, then let us know – we want to hear from you!

Individuals, groups or companies – are all welcome. The team at Flag Fen are a friendly mixed bunch, and are only too happy to welcome new volunteers into the fold. Whether you’re an individual needing a new challenge, a group of enthusiasts who can offer team skills or a company willing to support this community project at large, any reason is a good reason to join. You will make new friends, learn new skills, improve your physical and mental wellbeing – and in time, you will find out very quickly the values of becoming a part of the Flag Fen story.

Annual membership will self-renew every 12 months via Stripe and can be cancelled at any time*

International Membership

If you are based abroad and want to donate, you can join as an International Member.
Your donation will go directly to the site here at Flag Fen.
As a Friend of Flag Fen, we will keep you updated with all the latest news on the site.
We’ll put your name and country on our Global Supporters display panel in the Visitors Centre at Flag Fen.

Sadly, we can only take single payments not automatic monthly donations from International locations.

I understand my contribution is to support the ‘friends of flag fen’ in their efforts to protect the historical and ecologically sensitive site at Flag Fen and my payment(s) will be collected and administered by the Francis and Maisie Pryor Charitable Trust – A ‘not for profit’ volunteer group.

*I understand that I can cancel my membership at any time. (please note that on cancelling any payment, will mean your membership will lapse at the next pay date) no retrospective refunds can be given.

**Free Family pass is resticted to 4 persons to visit Flag Fen during the year, the pass does not include access on events days or bank holidays

      We have lots of opportunities for staff members to help out here at Flag Fen.
